David Emanuel fosters close communication among facility, parents, and students. The safe, nurturing family atmosphere is a cornerstone of DEA’s success. We are proud of the fact that all of our students are housed on the same campus and can interact during the school day. In this way, older students learn to feel responsible for the well being of the younger students and the younger students feel as though they have many older brothers and sisters. Students that are currently enrolled reside within seven of the surrounding counties and DEA maintains two school bus routes to accommodate.
As an educational institution we strive to encourage our students to explore all of their talents and interests. David Emanuel supports coed extracurricular activities that include 12 athletic teams and
15 literary performing arts events. Both athletic and literary teams have been consistently productive and provided the student body with opportunities for physical conditioning, leadership building, personal expression, artistic development, and teamwork. Our students are involved in community activities through Junior Y-Club, 4H Club, “Pennies for Patients” Leukemia drive, “Toys for Tots” toy drive, canned food drives for local food pantries, and Special Olympics.
